In February, we launched the 2026 edition of Spill the Beans on SATs, a guide that's more than just tips for the Year 6 exams. It's a no-jargon, no-stress way to prepare for the first formal tests young people ever take.

Learning by Questions: Evolving with the community

Every year, we gather insights from thousands of year 6 pupils and hundreds of teachers using LbQ's SATs Springboard. Last year, over 24,000 families downloaded the guide and we've listened to their feedback to make the 2026 version even better.

This year, we partnered with NHS team Togetherness to bring expert wellbeing advice into the guide, helping pupils understand anxiety and channel it as a force for good.

SATs with smiles: A story of impact

So why does this guide resonate with so many families?

"We see where SATs stress builds up every week," says Heather Abela, Head of Communications at LbQ. "This guide answers the questions families and teachers ask most and breaks SATs down into what actually matters. That clarity is why so many downloaded it last year."

Dr Hazel Douglas, who brings her expertise to the 2026 edition, explains the thinking behind the wellbeing focus:

"Reducing uncertainty is one of the most powerful ways to reduce anxiety. Clear information and calm preparation make a huge difference to children's confidence."

And it's not just about SATs; it's about showing that learning can be interactive, inclusive, and fun. That's the philosophy behind everything we do at LbQ: supporting the whole learning community.
